How to Properly Store Your RV, Long-Term
Thorough Cleaning:
Wash your RV’s exterior and interior, including the roof. Remove any debris that could trap moisture and damage the finish.
Cover Up:
Invest in a high-quality, breathable RV cover. This will shield your RV from sun damage, dust, and bird droppings. Ensure the cover fits snugly to prevent flapping in the wind.
Close all Window Coverings:
Even with a protective cover on the exterior, it’s helpful to close all window coverings inside the RV as well. It’s an added layer of protection against UV damage inside your RV.
Tire Care:
Inflate tires to the correct pressure and consider placing blocks under them to prevent flat spots. Cover the tires to protect them from UV rays.
Battery Maintenance:
Disconnect the battery or use a battery tender to keep it charged. A dead battery can be a major inconvenience when you’re ready to hit the road again.
Interior Prep:
